ME

I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Gold Hill, Oregon, I earned a BFA (2001) in painting and drawing as well as an MFA (2009) in Visual Studies from the Pacific Northwest College of Art. My work incorporates performance and activated sculptural props to explore human connection and disconnection, often through themes of celebration and melancholy.

Another aspect of my practice is my performance/Gallery Albatross. Albatross opened in Portland in 2015, located as a lanyard that hangs around my neck as I go about my day. It is a low impact duration performance piece in which I wear the work of artists I have curated. To date there have been 37 Albatross exhibitions.

I continue to perform the gallery Albatross since moving to a forest in rural Southern Oregon in 2016. Most recently, in the beginning weeks of "shelter in place" creating Albatross ARTFAIR an open call art fair displayed on Albatross’ blog with 28 artist participants from around the country.

Since moving to Southern Oregon my focus is on collages that are both fast digital images nearly spammed to Instagram to slow, thoughtful, considered formal works on paper utilizing floral print materials from the mass produced billion-dollar gifting industry.

I taught at the Pacific Northwest College of Art for six years and PSU for two terms. I have shown nationally, received a RACC grant, participated in PICA’s TBA festival, and PDX Contemporary's Window Project.
